Marvel Relaunches 'West Coast Avengers' as Young Hero Team

Stage 7: Grapevine

Grapevine Trail
Running for about 9 hours now I've had a lot of time to think. One thing that has been baffling me now that I've run 77 miles in the last 8 days, is that there are professional runners that run this much for a whole season. I really don't understand how. This is only my 3rd time to run more than 50 miles in a week, and I got sick the last two times. It takes a serious commitment to run this much all the time, plus a lot of eating.

Road to Meadowmeare
This was actually a really tough run. I think I was getting a little cocky after the first 5 days, running a few of those pretty fast, and thinking it was almost done. Well it is getting pretty difficult just to get started. It is like starting a car in winter, it take a good mile just to get loosened up, and warm. My left hamstring has been hurting since mile 5 yesterday and I had to run through the pain basically all day. Running near a lake means lots of hills and wind also.

Empty boat dock
I really like this trail by Grapevine Lake, it reminds me of going to the lake with my dad. It is a secluded and serene area. Since it isn't a weekend the lake is empty and there is no traffic on the road to the campgrounds. It is a very familiar area for me, it is basically a double out-and-back starting in the middle and going to the two places where I placed league ultimate for 3-4 years before they stopped letting us play on their fields.

66.7 miles, 2/3rd's of the way!
It was hot today, almost 90, and I didn't get started until 9am so it was hot from the start. I soaked my shirt and hat in ice water before I started which helped for a few miles. In the picture I took at 66.7 miles you can see me starting to fade. By mile 8 I was getting a little dizzy and when I finished I needed some serious fluid to start to feel normal again.

Luckily we got some rain tonight and the last three runs I can start before 7am.
